Sunday’s Decision Day match marks the 40th all-time meeting across all competitions between the LA Galaxy and Houston Dynamo FC, with LA leading the series 16-13-10. The last time the two teams met at PNC Stadium, the LA earned a 3-0 win over Houston on Oct. 20, 2021. The Galaxy enter Sunday’s match following a 1-1 draw at home against Real Salt Lake on Oct. 1, which moved LA (13-12-8, 47 points) up to fourth place in the Western Conference standings, three points behind third-place FC Dallas (13-9-11, 50 points). The Galaxy clinched a berth in the 2022 MLS Cup Playoffs following a 1-1 draw against Real Salt Lake on Oct. 1. Notably, with his next appearance defender Julián Araujo will become the 31st player in LA Galaxy history to appear in 100 career regular-season matches.
